The skin of Normah Husin, 47, is peeling off while her face is swollen and the condition makes it difficult for her to open her eyes and mouth and walk.
Her husband, Dzulkifli Roffen, 57, lodged a report at the district police station yesterday.

Dzulkifli said Normah was admitted to the hospital on Jan 18, and left two days later with an assortment of medicine.

“A week later, her skin started to peel off and her whole body began to itch. We then sent her to the same hospital on Wednesday to seek treatment from a skin specialist.

“It shocked us when the doctor said she was given the wrong medicine and instructed her to stop taking it,” he said at his house in Kampung Chempaka in Panji, here, yesterday.
Dzulkifli said his wife had never been afflicted with any skin disease and she was now in agony.

“I am not going to take any action against the hospital, but hope they will treat my wife until she recovers,” he said.
Dzukifli, who is a sugarcane juice seller, said he had to work to look after his wife as she needed constant care.

“I normally get between RM200 and RM300 a month from the business, which is my only source of income to feed my seven children who are not working.

“We are poor and the problem faced by my wife has burdened us further. I hope the public will assist us,” he said.
